So you want to start a Direct Sales Business to earn money online? New entrepreneurs are finding the Direct Sales Business model a reasonable choice because entrepreneurs get paid first before the company does. There are some techniques that you need to know as you start to build your direct sales business.

One of the biggest misconceptions of a direct sales business is that it can be run on autopilot. You have to get that idea out of your head now. It will effect your sales margins. Start to get active in building your direct sales business. I have outlined some steps to help you to set your direct sales business up properly and have it start running smoothly.

1.) Web Design

Now you may have been giving a website with the business model you joined. While your affiliate site may be jazzy, and informational it is time to set yourself to be different, unique. Put it this way, how many people do you think is using that affiliate website? Exactly… are you different then them? If your not its time that you are. Consider setting yourself apart by building your own website.

2.) Product Demand -

You have a product. What do you know about it. I have seen people join a direct sales business and start promoting just to earn money online. Its crucial to go back to the basics. What is your product? What is the advantages to your product over the competitors? What kind of demand does your product have? Don’t sell something you don’t know anything about, its not fair to your or your consumers.

3.) Check out Your competitors

What is your competitors offering. If you don’t have something equally important or of higher value to offer, why wouldn’t they go to them. You need to be on top of the market to earn money online. You need to also be on top of your competitors.

4.) Build A Opt - in List

Optin list is permission marketing. This is usually accomplished through an opt-in page, or capture page. Your potential buyers should continue to get promotions or news about your business.

5.) Sales Letters

This goes with step 4, when someone fills out your capture page they should have a series of professionally written sales letters being emailed to them. My suggestion is to have at least 35 emails being directed to them

6.) Promotion -

Be inventive, with your direct sales business. Earning money online is about being inventive and unique. Think of a promotion and publicize it to increase your Opt-in list, which can in turn enhance your sales margins

7.) Branding -

You want to start branding yourself, even at the beginning of your business. You may not have a big business story to tell but you have information on yourself. Start a who is page. Let your consumers get to know who you are. As your accomplishments in the business world grow so should your who is page.

8.) Start a Blog

Blogging is very much like branding. Some use it for personal reasons but more and more entrepreneurs are seeing the benefits of the social media advertising of blogging. Its free and its a great resource to connecting with like minded people.

9.) Online Marketing

Online marketing will be the core of your direct sales business. Online marketing is an article in itself. If you are looking into advertising companies then do your diligence do not just jump in without any background or information from the company. If they pressure you to make a decision today then jump back and do not do it. No company or organization should ever pressure you to make a decision. If that happens, my suggestions, is do not do it.

10) Do not forge it alone-

Starting your own direct sales business does not mean you are alone. Entrepreneurs always use social media to learn and to get advice. I advise to participate throughout your direct sales business career. At the beginning use it as a resource to learn as you grow use it as a resource to advise. In addition hopefully you have a good mentor or mentoring team to help you learn how to build your direct sales business. Utilize their successes and failures to your benefit.

This outline is meant to give you a formula to work off from. Direct Sales Business are evolving, as should your goals and online marketing techniques. Don’t panic, if you don’t know how to accomplish some of the steps I have listed. Get with your mentor, or mentoring team to have them assist you getting this list properly organized and running. But most of all have fun and enjoy your new direct sales business.
