Million Dollar Emails. Do You Write Them?

If your business already has a website, you’ve got a great head start on your competitors who might not have a web presence yet.

However, if you aren’t combining the power of email marketing with your website, you’re probably generating only a fraction of the profit that you could be making!

The real power of email marketing for online businesses is that it gives you a way to drive qualified buyers to your site whenever you want; at the touch of a button and all for FREE.

Think carefully about this concept for just a moment. Imagine having the ability to send a swarm of highly targeted visitors to your site at the exact moment YOU are featuring a new product that you KNOW they would be interested in purchasing.

It doesn’t matter if you own a “brick and mortar” storefront or an online mall. You need to have an email list. This way anyone who comes to your site and gives you their email address in exchange for a free newsletter subscription or free report, can become a very hot lead. ;-)

One of the fastest ways to start building your email list is to give away a free report or newsletter. Your newsletter will be chocked full of valuable information about a subject that you and your subscribers are passionate about.

Here are some ideas:

1. Announce Weekly Specials

Once you’ve started collecting email addresses of the visitors to your website or store, you can send them weekly updates letting them know what your weekly specials are.

2. Host “Customer Only” Events

One of the best ways to capitalize on the lifetime value of your customers is to reward them with special “customer only” events.

3. Follow up with your Hottest Leads

You can use email to follow up with those people you have spoken with personally, but who have not made a purchase. Offer to answer any additional questions they may have, and let them know that you are available to speak with them at their convenience.

4. Offer Electronic “Loyalty Coupons”

This is a great way to get your existing customers to buy from you again and again. You simply send each and every one of your customers a coupon via email and tell them they can apply that coupon during their next visit to your site or storefront.

Remember: It’s always a good idea to make your coupons valid for a limited time only. This motivates your customers to take action right away and make a purchase from you as soon as possible.

Encourage Referrals:

Email is a great way to encourage referrals. Because email is easy for people to forward to their families, friends and co-workers, you can grow your business faster than you could ever before the internet. Make sure that every newsletter, offer or special that you send to your customers and subscribers reminds them that they can forward your message on to anyone they think might be interested.

Of course, you are not required to sit down and actually write a seperate email to each and every one of your customers or subscribers. These days, there are a number of software solutions you can use that give you the power to send out fully personalized email promotions to your entire list automatically, at the click of a mouse.

Example of how to use this method of marketing in your Brick and Mortar storefront.

Set up a box with a sign that says “Sign Up for our Weekly Newsletter” We will send you all the hot new products and give you the first chance at them as a thank you for being our valued customer. PLUS, we’ll send you valuable coupons to use the next time you shop with us!

Then set a box with a little pad beside it where you capture their:

(website):

It’s always nice to know if they have a website.. as you can do “link exchanges” with them. :-) You might also just find a great J.V. partner!!

For instance.. you own a furniture store. Your customer just came in and bought a great bedside table. Well you know you are going to get a huge stock of table lamps. If you have that customers information you’ll be able to send them a quick email and tell them about your new arrivals.. and then end up making more money from that one sell.

Maybe you find out a customer is remodeling a room.. well you have all the stuff they need to “restock” their room with the hottest, newest furniture….

Don’t miss on sales just because you think Email marketing won’t work with Brick and Mortar stores..
