5-Point Marketing Checklist for Coaches and Consultants
Ever wonder where to start with your marketing?
Here is a 5-point marketing checklist to help you get started.
1. Decide what makes you unique, what motivates you, and what you
want to bring to the world.
2. Vision the business you’d like to create. Then build a
structure to support that vision, using your calendar to preserve
time for what’s most important to your business and to your life.
Outsource tasks that take rob time away from those things.
3. Decide what you can offer that’s different or better than the
others out there serving your same market. See if you can serve
any needs that aren’t already being served. Create a funnel of
unique or better products and services that differentiate you
from your competition, and allow for a greater lifetime value for
each client.
4. Decide on your niche. Choose a niche that you really like,
with people you like to work with. Make sure the niche is big
enough, doesn’t have too many direct competitors, is easily
reachable, and has shown responsiveness to the types of products
you offer by buying similar products already.
5. Decide which marketing methods you will use, to get potential
clients into your funnel and to promote your products.
Everything is done in baby steps. No one started out big– no one!
Everyone started out with very modest beginnings, usually failed a
couple of times, and grew from there. Above all, patience,
perseverance, and faith in yourself are the main ingredients to
your success.
For example, Apple computer started in the seventies with a
couple of guys that built computers in their garages. Then that
grew into a few more guys making computers in their garages. Then
they got a truck to pick up all the computers and deliver them…
And it gradually grew from there, into the empire it is today-
but slowly– and with a lot of well-publicized bumps along the
way.
By taking the time to do the important preparatory steps, your
business will start off on the right foot. You’ll have a group
of people who want to buy what you offer, a unique position
in your marketplace, and as long as you keep going and have
faith, your business will thrive.
